True is committed to positive climate impact by reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030. Moreover, we do not send any electronic waste to landfill.

Solar Sites and Alternative Energy
By year-end 2022, True had installed 4,712 solar cell base stations, saving 31,176 MWh per year and reducing greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 13,905 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2e) per year. True also supports the development of carbon-neutral energy sources in Thailand’s energy grid. In 2022, we purchased renewable energy certificates (market-based) to offset 265,000 MWh of electricity consumption from the hydropower plants of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.

Enabling Climate Solutions
Telecommunications and technology are key enablers of climate action. The GSMA estimates mobile and digital technologies could help cut nearly 40% of CO2 emissions over the next 10 years within industries such as manufacturing, energy, transportation and construction. True provides consumer solutions for smarter energy consumption at home (TrueX), while also working with SMEs and large enterprises for digitalization and efficiency on an industrial scale.

Waste
True has achieved a target of zero e-waste from operations to landfill. In addition, we aim to digitalize all processes that require paper forms within 2023, providing our customers with seamless experiences that ensure their data’s privacy.

Water
Water Management
True recognizes the importance of water resources and the risks associated with water scarcity, even though the telecommunications sector does not primarily rely on water in its operations. The company has assessed water scarcity risks in all of its operational areas, including office buildings, using the AQUEDUCT tool developed by the World Resources Institute (WRI). True has also set a quantified target to reduce water withdrawal per unit of revenue by 40% by 2024 and 42% by 2030, compared to the baseline year of 2020.

Water Management Projects
As part of its Water Management Project, True has implemented a range of initiatives to address water-related risks and improve water efficiency across its operations. The company actively assesses water scarcity risks, particularly in high-risk areas, and collaborates with property owners to ensure that wastewater is properly treated before being discharged into the environment.
